Summary

I am an Associate Professor in Behavioural Economics and the Associate Head for Research and Innovation within the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance. As an active research academic, I lead and contribute to a diverse portfolio of economic and multidisciplinary projects.

My research integrates experimental methods—including both laboratory and online environments—with advanced econometric techniques to investigate core questions in behavioural economics. My primary areas of inquiry include gender differences in institutions and public goods provision.

My research was published in leading international journals, including British Journal of Management, Public Administration Review, Experimental Economics, Journal of Business Ethics, Public Choice, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, and Journal of Conflict Resolution. My work has secured funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), Horizon Europe, and internal Faculty of Business and Law grants.

I am an active member of the Experimental Research Cluster and the Behavioural and Experimental Economics Laboratory (BAREL). Committed to academic citizenship, I have served on the Faculty’s Ethics Committee and as a member of the Athena SWAN Self-Assessment Team. I have organised outreach events under the Discover Economics banner of the Royal Economic Society, and I am coordinating a Mentoring Programme for women economics students at the University of Portsmouth.

Biography

I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of East Anglia, a MSc in Economics from the University of Siena (Italy), and a BSc in Economics from the University of Bologna (Italy). Prior to joining the University of Portsmouth, I was Research Associate at the Max Planck Institute of Economics in Jena (Germany). Before that, I had been Research Associate at the Centre for Reasoning at the University of Kent. In autumn 2019 I was granted research leave, during which I visited the University of Southampton.
